The Assessment Pyramid outlines the different forms of assessment that are used across the school at Melrose. We believe that assessment should always be meaningful for our staff and our students, and give us information to better student outcomes.
Whilst the pyramid represents different levels of assessment, it also indicates the amount of time that should be allocated in each level, for example mandated State Wide Assessments need much less time than Formative Assessment.
The pyramid highlights the need for Formative Assessment that is reliable, authentic, varied and useable to inform teaching and learning foci.
