Discovery

Discovery at Melrose involves learning about the 5P's. People, Places and Process of the Past and Present. Discovery involves Project Based Learning where students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period to investigate and respond to an authentic, engaging, and complex question, problem, or challenge.

At Melrose Primary School, Discovery operates on a two year rotation. Each Unit level will explore at least four topics each year. Usually this would be structured with one topic per term.

While we recognise that learning in Discovery can be very broad weekly planning should be completed using the following planner template and then saved in an editable format on the Staff Drive with the accompanying resources.
